All black cabs in our fleet are purpose-built and wheelchair accessible as standard. These taxis are designed to meet Transport for London’s strict safety and accessibility regulations.

  • Seat Restraints: every seat, including wheelchair position, is equipped with a seat restraint
  • Contactless Payment Device: Located in the rear passenger area — quick, accessible, and secure.
  • Partition & Intercom: Ensures privacy and safety, with an easy-to-use intercom for clear communication with the driver.

Assistance You Can Count On

London black cab drivers are to receive ongoing training from Transport for London to:

  • Assist with wheelchair access and mobility needs
  • Communicate respectfully with neurodivergent passengers
  • Support those with visual, hearing, or cognitive impairments

Need help during your journey? Don’t hesitate to ask your driver for assistance.

If your driver cannot assist you as a wheelchair user, they will display a ‘wheelchair user exemption certificate’ issued by the Licensing Authority.
